The Stanley Hotel

I occasionally acquire a hotel rooms to provide studio space for my shoots. They provide s color coordinated environment that is, before I arrive uncluttered and clean. The offer a variety of opportunities to shoot in relatively common surrounding with backdrops and props that change with each new location.

The Stanley on Georgia street in Vancouver is an affordable and comfortable hotel near Stanley park in Vancouver, and i would recommend it to any visitor to Vancouver. It is comfortable and close to the park and still very near the city core.

It was quite small to shoot in so it offered new challenges that are actually fun to overcome. But it featured great views through floor to ceiling windows.

Here are some of the results from that shoot.

Carmen was first up - on Sunday afternoon. Her image is to the right. We met at about 1:00 in the afternoon and spent a great afternoon laughing and giggling. She is a magnificent person with an outstanding sense of humor (she laughs at my jokes). We had a good time but of course we created some very interesting and exciting images. Some samples of which you can see here:

Next to shoot was Kristen who surprised me earlier in the day with her ability to make it to shoot with very little notice. She is a very talented with her makeup and certainly has an innate ability to provide the camera with numerous varied and interesting poses to shoot. (See More)

INTRODUCTION & My First Blog attempt

Whats UP?

I guess that is the question one answers in a blog.

I am a Photographer so what i have to share are my images of course and perhaps my experiences.

I obviously meet a lot of people since I work with many people usually only once. Although there are many repeat clients many of my clients wish to experience one photos hoot and obtain wonderful images they will treasure for a lifetime but may not wish to acquire more unless they are hooked on the experience which for some is the most fun they can have.

I may comment on my experiences getting shoots organized and arranging all of the details but I will primarily be adding images to the blog with a few comments.

I have not looked a the blog yet software yet but i hope it offers an opportunity for comments and i do hope that opportunity is not abused.

That is it for now. I am sure i will get better t this as time goes by.

My next blog will announce a trip down the coast. So keep reading.
