Sapheria June 1st 2008

Why am i working with Sapheria again, or whey is she working working me again.
We are building her modeling portfolio to include all the image types she may need as well and preparing her with additional experience for the work she has acquired over the last 4 or so week since we first shot.
I mentioned a bit of a biography in my previous model shoot and I have previously not introduced you to Sapheria`s accomplishments. She has been the busiest person I think I have even known. She currently works two jobs - 95 then 10 - 2AM 5 days a week when she gets days off from the day job for weekends and a period of much needed sleep.
She has not had much time to get together but we managed to do it again.
In the meantime her popularity and grown and she continues to arrange more paid gigs in a number of areas in the USA. We have had the usual disappointments as many of the offers are bogus or the clients unreasonable to deal with. We have had some even suggest she travel for 4 hours and arrive in a different city to shoot without that photographer making a minimal deposit to solidify the arrangement. I am very happy she allows me to help her negotiate these shoots as i can see know there are are many young girls who want to be models who are going to be eaten up by this process.

Kierra - May 18th 2008

Kierra's second shoot took place at a stables she was able to locate and acquire through a friend, of a friend. The location was awesome and the hosts left us with the run of the place almost. :)
Shooting on location in bright bright sunlight is difficult but there were stalls for the horses which provided interesting backdrops for most of our shoot.

Supershoot May 3rd Ironworks studio

Supershoot
Every now and then I organize a supershoot,
A supershoot is a networking event designed to bring together models, makeup artist and photographers interested in meeting others with the same interests.
This time we had 4 Photographers plus myself, and 6 models and 1 makeup artist. This turned out to be nearly perfect ration as the models were always working and the photographers always and a steady. Whenever a solitary model was changed and ready to go and without a photographer to shoot with i stepped in and filled the void. So everyone was productive every moment of the event.
The results are posted here
Sapheria - Shoot2 May 10, 2008

I had shot with Sapheria a week before and in that time i had received a call from a photographer in Los angeles asking about her. He was offering her a well paid opportunity, including all travel expenses to model for his calendar clients and web sites, later in the summer.
So now she realized she may have the potential she had dreamed of and I convinced her to start utilizing a modeling web site to advertise herself, and suggested i help her answer the mail she receives from all over the nation. By the time we met only a week later she had offers to work on small shoots in Vegas, LA, and San Diego.
The results fo the second shoot:

We had planned the shoot a bit better and she demonstrated a growing confidence in working with me and in her own abilities and added much more of her own personality to the shoot. The results speak for themselves, and demonstrates what happens if a shoot is immediately followed by a second where the models confidence and her skill level are much improved.
Stay tuned for more.
Sapheria May 5th, 2008

Sapheria and I have spoken a few times over the last year and a half, about shooting. We did make an arrangement to do a shoot in spring of 2007. Her story is not unusual. She has wanted to be a model all her life and it always seemed to be a far away dream. So we were introduced by a mutual model friend and she contacted me. But last years she was held back from the shoot for many reasons we do not need to get into. Once she released of dropped the reason she was not able to begin she called me again. After a bit of trouble scheduling we finally got to shoot and she got her first chance to experience part of her dream.
We fell in love with shooting with each other, or at least I fell in love with her, and discussed shooting again in the near future.

Wedgewood Hotel with Kierra May 27, 2008

The Wedgewood Hotel, Vancouver is one of my favorite shooting locations. It offers a reasonable sized room with wonderful amenities that provide great backdrops and props for photos shoots.
Kierra and I almost missed each other as my cell phone was not working reliably and went looking for her a few minutes after she was supposed to arrive. I found her waiting patiently or but she had been early and was not able to reach me, so she had sat there waiting for me for about 1/2 hour and was considering leaving. Luckily i got there in time to save a great opportunity to shoot and meet a wonderful women.
Our primary intention for this shoots was to create some content for her web site, which is intended to be up and runnign shortly with paid memberships.
Her web site is at:http://www.kierrakingston.com/

Stanley Hotel - resumed
My next visitor to the Stanley was Liz. She arrived early the next morning so we had time to shoot before we had to check out at 12:00PM.
Her ProShotPhoto gallery is

Liz is a very nice person with a great look and an amazing figure for modeling. It was indeed a pleasure to work with her. I very much enjoyed some of her ideas and specifically loved some of the wardrobe she brought to utilize.

The Stanley Hotel
I occasionally acquire a hotel rooms to provide studio space for my shoots. They provide s color coordinated environment that is, before I arrive uncluttered and clean. The offer a variety of opportunities to shoot in relatively common surrounding with backdrops and props that change with each new location.
The Stanley on Georgia street in Vancouver is an affordable and comfortable hotel near Stanley park in Vancouver, and i would recommend it to any visitor to Vancouver. It is comfortable and close to the park and still very near the city core.
It was quite small to shoot in so it offered new challenges that are actually fun to overcome. But it featured great views through floor to ceiling windows.

Here are some of the results from that shoot.
Carmen was first up - on Sunday afternoon. Her image is to the right. We met at about 1:00 in the afternoon and spent a great afternoon laughing and giggling. She is a magnificent person with an outstanding sense of humor (she laughs at my jokes). We had a good time but of course we created some very interesting and exciting images. Some samples of which you can see here:
Next to shoot was Kristen who surprised me earlier in the day with her ability to make it to shoot with very little notice. She is a very talented with her makeup and certainly has an innate ability to provide the camera with numerous varied and interesting poses to shoot. (See More)

INTRODUCTION & My First Blog attempt
Whats UP?
I guess that is the question one answers in a blog.
I am a Photographer so what i have to share are my images of course and perhaps my experiences.
I obviously meet a lot of people since I work with many people usually only once. Although there are many repeat clients many of my clients wish to experience one photos hoot and obtain wonderful images they will treasure for a lifetime but may not wish to acquire more unless they are hooked on the experience which for some is the most fun they can have.
I may comment on my experiences getting shoots organized and arranging all of the details but I will primarily be adding images to the blog with a few comments.
I have not looked a the blog yet software yet but i hope it offers an opportunity for comments and i do hope that opportunity is not abused.
That is it for now. I am sure i will get better t this as time goes by.
My next blog will announce a trip down the coast. So keep reading.
